Unusual coastal birds with their 'blue suede shoes' that the male uses in his mating dance to attract the female. The name booby comes from the Spanish word bobo ("foolish", or "clown") because the blue-footed booby is clumsy on land. Boobies are found in tropical and subtropical regions of the eastern Pacific Ocean.
